Yin Yoga Workshop
with Norman Blair
6 March 2026
Next Spring, we're delighted to welcome back the wonderful Norman Blair for an extended afternoon Yin Yoga Workshop - his third workshop with us here in Hastings. This will be an opportunity to explore a deeply restorative practice under expert guidance (expect a good sense of humour, too!)
Friday 6th March 2026 | 1:30–4:30pm
Wellington Health and Wellbeing Centre, Hastings
£40
Yin yoga is a meditative practice. The emphasis is on staying in 'shapes' for significant periods of time. Stillness and attention are prioritised above ‘achieving’ a pose. This three-hour Yin yoga workshop is a precious chance to slow down and to soften. Norman Blair is one of the most experienced Yin teachers in UK and he has been teaching these workshops since 2003. This practice of mindfully bending and gently moving can be remarkably rejuvenating for our body-mind-heart. Yin yoga gives us the space to slow down and stay with our experiences rather than always rushing and striving to achieve. The floor-based postures are held for several minutes, with plenty of props to make this practice as accessible as possible.
About Norman
Norman began regularly practising yoga in 1993 and his first meditation retreat was December 2000. In October 2001, he started teaching yoga. His first book – Brightening Our Inner Skies: yin and yoga – was published in 2016. In July 2025 he published a book of yin wisdom; his next book will be published in early 2026 – Everything We Do Matters: poems and prose about yoga and life.
He teaches classes, retreats and workshops and has been running Yin yoga trainings since 2013. Particularly inspirational teachers include Judith Hanson Lasater, Paul Grilley, Richard Freeman and Sarah Powers. He believes that through regular yoga and meditation practices we can experience profound changes in our mind and body.
Norman has been actively involved in social justice campaigns since the early 1980s. He believes that it is crucial that we connect inward work with outward work – personal transformation in the service of societal transformation. As practitioners, we know that we have the capacity for positive change. We can be catalysts for change: we can look up, raise our aspirations, be less reactive and more creative.
He also writes a brilliant newsletter - you can sign up via his website.

Handstands, Arm Balances & Headstands
with Andy
14 Feb 2026
Handstands are truly magical — they are expansive, fun, empowering ,challenging and so much more! Handstands and arm balances build strength and stability in the arms, shoulders, and upper body, while turning our world upside down in ways that stimulate the nervous system, expand awareness, and challenge what we believe is possible. Their energetic counterpart, headstands, offer a more grounding, inward pathway toward meditation and relaxation.
We are delighted to announce that Andy will be teaching a workshop exploring handstands, arm balances, and headstands. In this workshop he will be paying special attention to shoulder anatomy, safe technique, and supportive exercises to build strength, balance, and confidence — wherever you’re starting from.
Saturday 14th February 2026 | 1–4pm
Wellington Health and Wellbeing Centre, Hastings
£40
Suitable for yoga practitioners with at least two years of regular practice (not suitable for beginners). Spaces are limited to 12, so early booking is recommended.

Ashtanga - the scenic route
with Jock Orton
6-7 June 2026
An alternative approach to practicing Ashtanga Yoga
Join us for a weekend of Yoga with Jock Orton - Ashtanga Yoga teacher and Founder of the beautiful Limehouse Yoga Studio in North Cornwall. This workshop is designed for practitioners who are interested in a more sustainable and intelligent approach to Ashtanga practice, whether you are newer to the system or have been practicing for many years.
Ashtanga is a powerful and transformative method, but like any long-term practice, it benefits from reflection, refinement, and adaptation. This workshop invites you to explore how Ashtanga can be practiced in a way that supports your body, your life, and your individual needs — rather than forcing your body to fit a rigid structure.
We will look at how to maintain the essence and integrity of the practice while working with the body in a way that promotes longevity, resilience, and steady progress. The focus will be on intelligent movement, functional strength and mobility, and practical strategies you can apply directly to your own practice.
This is not a strictly traditional, by-the-book Ashtanga workshop. It is for practitioners who are open to a thoughtful, adaptable approach that prioritises long-term health, sustainability, and enjoyment of the practice.

Monthly Reset: Yin & Yoga Nidrā
with Gina
Join Gina for extended evenings of Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidrā — an opportunity for a monthly reset. Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative practice that targets deep connective tissues, joints, and fascia through long-held (3-5 minutes), passive poses. This encourages stillness and mindfulness, helps to increase flexibility, release tension, and cultivate inner calm.
Yoga Nidrā (translated from Sanskrit meaning yogic sleep) is a guided deep relaxation practice of conscious rest that leads you into a state between sleep and awareness. A deeply restorative practice, it calms the mind and nervous system, and releases stress.
Suitable for all levels, this will be an opportunity to unwind and restore balance in body and mind. Mats and props are provided.
