MONTHLY RESET: YIN AND YOGA NIDRĀ WITH GINA

Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative practice that targets deep connective tissues, joints, and fascia through long-held (3-5 minutes), passive poses. This encourages stillness and mindfulness, helps to increase flexibility, release tension, and cultivate inner calm.
Yoga Nidrā (translated from Sanskrit meaning yogic sleep) is a guided deep relaxation practice of conscious rest that leads you into a state between sleep and awareness. A deeply restorative practice, it calms the mind and nervous system, and releases stress.
Suitable for all levels, this will be an opportunity to unwind and restore balance in body and mind. Mats and props are provided.

HYPERMOBILITY ON THE YOGA MAT WORKSHOPS WITH JESS GLENNY
We're excited to welcome back the brilliant Jess Glenny to Hastings for a full day workshop on Hypermobility on the yoga mat. Hypermobile people are generally over-represented in the yoga world, where we may be initially successful at reproducing challenging asana – but for many of us practice eventually descends into a series of recurring injuries or unexplained pain. We may receive praise for our flexibility, but seldom recognition of our many unique struggles in yoga or guidance about how to access postures in a more stable and functional way.

About Jess
I have been practising yoga in a hypermobile body for over 40 years, and teaching hypermobile students for more than 20. Although I’ve garnered a lot of knowledge and experience and written a book along the way, I don’t see myself as an expert in hypermobility. My skill is in accompanying hypermobile practitioners on the yoga journey and holding space for what wants to unfold for each unique individual. You can find out more about me here.
The intersection between yoga and hypermobility is complex, and little about hypermobility is clear-cut or generalisable to every hypermobile person. With that in mind, this workshop will be a shared exploration, drawing upon all of our experiences. What we cover will reflect the interests of participants, but may include:
What hypermobility is and how it affects us
Co-occurring conditions and how they show up in yoga practice
Strength and stability inside and outside yoga
Hypermobility, neurodivergence and yoga
Yoga practices and nervous system regulation
Which teaching settings best serve hypermobile students
Working with musculoskeletal issues in asana
Students with complex needs and teachers' scope of practice
Postures and practices that are ‘good’ / ‘bad’ for hypermobility
Dizziness, pranayama struggles and orthostatic issues
Who is it for?
Yoga teachers who are, or think they may be, hypermobile
Non-hypermobile yoga teachers
Yoga practitioners with at least two years of regular practice who are, or thinkthey may be, hypermobile
What people say about Hypermobility on the Yoga Mat workshops
“Jess’s teaching on hypermobility is eye-opening, fascinating. I recommend it very highly for anyone who is hypermobile, suspects they might be, or who teaches labelled or unlabelled hypermobile students.”—Sally (yoga teacher)
“An excellent workshop. Jess is clearly very knowledgeable in this area. I really gained a lot and have already put some of the teachings in practice – my students are very grateful!”—Nicola (yoga teacher)
“I thoroughly enjoyed the hypermobility workshop. Jess made it such a lovely experience – interesting, explorative – and it was so nice to be around people with similar issues. I would seriously recommend this workshop to all.”—Hannah (hypermobile yoga teacher trainee)
“What I learned during this workshop has had a massive positive impact on me and how I look after my body. All the aches and pains, and the difficulties I had with my posture and gait and with yoga poses now make so much sense. I’ve been able to use what I learned to start making some changes to how I live and move, and I feel so much better for it. Perhaps, most importantly, I now know how to make sure I’m properly relaxed to help stop the old autonomic nervous system kicking in even when I’m lying down!” Susanna (hypermobile yoga practitioner)

YIN YOGA WORKSHOP WITH NORMAN BLAIR (2027)
We're delighted to welcome back the wonderful Norman Blair for an extended afternoon Yin Yoga Workshop - his fourth workshop with us here in Hastings. This will be an opportunity to explore a deeply restorative practice under expert guidance (expect a good sense of humour, too!)
Friday 5th March 2027 | 1:30–4:30pm
Wellington Health and Wellbeing Centre, Hastings
£50
Yin yoga is a meditative practice. The emphasis is on staying in 'shapes' for significant periods of time. Stillness and attention are prioritised above ‘achieving’ a pose. This three-hour Yin yoga workshop is a precious chance to slow down and to soften. Norman Blair is one of the most experienced Yin teachers in UK and he has been teaching these workshops since 2003. This practice of mindfully bending and gently moving can be remarkably rejuvenating for our body-mind-heart. Yin yoga gives us the space to slow down and stay with our experiences rather than always rushing and striving to achieve. The floor-based postures are held for several minutes, with plenty of props to make this practice as accessible as possible.
About Norman
Norman began regularly practising yoga in 1993 and his first meditation retreat was December 2000. In October 2001, he started teaching yoga. His first book – Brightening Our Inner Skies: yin and yoga – was published in 2016. In July 2025 he published a book of yin wisdom; his next book will be published in early 2026 – Everything We Do Matters: poems and prose about yoga and life.
He teaches classes, retreats and workshops and has been running Yin yoga trainings since 2013. Particularly inspirational teachers include Judith Hanson Lasater, Paul Grilley, Richard Freeman and Sarah Powers. He believes that through regular yoga and meditation practices we can experience profound changes in our mind and body.
Norman has been actively involved in social justice campaigns since the early 1980s. He believes that it is crucial that we connect inward work with outward work – personal transformation in the service of societal transformation. As practitioners, we know that we have the capacity for positive change. We can be catalysts for change: we can look up, raise our aspirations, be less reactive and more creative.
He also writes a brilliant newsletter - you can sign up via his website.
Bookings open closer to the time.

A WEEKEND OF ASHTANGA & YIN YOGA WITH INNA COSTANTINI (2026)
We can’t wait to host the lovely Inna Costantini again on the Sussex Coast! Join us for a weekend of Ashtanga, Backbend workshops and Yin Yoga. There will also be an (optional) group dinner on the Saturday evening. If you’ve practiced with Inna before you’ll be familiar with her expert hands-on adjustments, creative and technical workshops, and deeply restorative yin yoga practices. We highly recommend coming to experience practicing with Inna with like-minded yogis in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Inna teaches and practices Ashtanga Yoga in London. She first discovered yoga in her late teens when she moved to London from France, where she was born and grew up. She started practicing Ashtanga Yoga in 2002 and she trained to teach in 2008. With a background in media, anthropology, and a stint in PR, she initially experimented with a variety of yoga paths before deciding to trade her desk for a yoga mat to practice in India, where she returns every year to study, travel and learn. Inna holds a KPJAYI Authorisation from R. Sharath Jois in Mysore, and has been assisting Hamish Hendry at Astanga Yoga London since 2011. She is currently working on Advanced A & B series under Hamish’s guidance.
She is grateful for all the teachers and students she has shared the practice with, in particular Rolf Naujokat for his continuous inspiration, Norman Blair for his insights into Yin Yoga and Clive Sheridan for his sparkly teachings of pranayama and meditation.
Yoga, in all its forms, fascinates her, observing its effects and the intricate links between physical and mental wellbeing. She loves helping and watching students develop, and believes yoga is a lifelong learning process: a dedicated, regular, and yet fun, practice that can only bring forth increased energy and happiness.
